Type 1 Diabetes Cure Perceptions Test
Another interesting survey for patients with type 1 diabetes, or parents with children who have the disease, is JDCA’s Cure Perceptions test. It takes a look at what patients were told when they were diagnosed in regards to a cure, and if their hopes that type 1 diabetes will be cured have gone up or down since that time.
You can take the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/QVZ5HP5
Juvenile diabetes is often characterized as a chronic (lifelong) illness, unless the efforts towards finding a cure become more focused and targeted towards a specific goal (such as finding a cure before 2025). Surveys such as this one are important for profiling the expectations of patients, donors, and all people affected by Type 1 diabetes. It is data that can be used to inform the research foundations who make use of the money that the people funding their research hope for and expect results within a given time-frame. It can serve as motivation for a more efficient and productive use of the donors money, and hopefully contribute towards finding a cure sooner than expected.
Anyone who has donated money to diabetes foundations can also take the donor’s survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/F3MQJYG
